The embroidered apparel should be machine-washed, cold, inside out on a gentle cycle using a mild detergent and like colors. A small amount of chlorine bleach may be added, though the safest to use is the non-chlorine. If excess dye shows in the water, rinse once in lukewarm water, then several times in cold. If possible, avoid rubbing the stained embroidery. One can also dry clean embroidered clothing. After washing, the clothes should not be left soaking or heaped on one another while wet. Do not wring out the embroidered items but if you would like to tumble-dry them, use cool air. Iron the garment inside out on a cool setting and preferably between two pieces of cloth. You are supposed to never dampen embroidery prior to ironing or ironing with steam.
